History and Development

Southern Ridge Electrical was founded by Ross Male, whose vision was to create an electrical contracting company that stood out in quality and reliability. From its humble beginnings, the company has grown rapidly on the back of forging great relationships with clients and excellent project delivery, Southern Ridge Electrical now boasting nearly 50 dedicated staff members. With a strong presence in Gippsland and Melbourne, Southern Ridge Electrical operates from two strategically located sites, allowing them to efficiently serve a broad range of clients and projects across Victoria.

Since its inception, Southern Ridge Electrical has built a reputation for excellence in the electrical contracting industry. Becky Male, Director of Accounts at Southern Ridge Electrical, has been instrumental in the company’s growth since its founding in 2015. She leads financial operations, supports apprenticeship programs, and advocates for women in the electrical industry through her work on the NECA Women in Industry Advisory Board, helping increase female representation both onsite and in project roles.

He oversees tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and the estimating team’s operations. Chris excels at building client relationships, solving project challenges, fostering teamwork, and driving growth within the division.

His goal is to establish Southern Ridge Electrical as a leader in project delivery through ongoing growth and development.

Tony Childs is one of our Commercial Project Manager’s, who we welcomed on board in July 2024. Tony brings extensive experience as an A Grade Electrician. He oversees all aspects of commercial projects, including budgeting, labour management, and on-site progress. Known for his calm, approachable nature, Tony fosters teamwork and ensures project success. His goal is to deliver profitable, high-quality results while supporting Southern Ridge Electrical’s growth.

Emily joined Southern Ridge Electrical in 2023, bringing over 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. As a Contracts Administrator and Project Coordinator, Emily works closely with the project delivery team, ensuring seamless communication between onsite teams and the delivery of essential items. Her role also includes managing “As Builts” and site safety documentation, contributing to the successful execution of construction programs.

With 12 years of experience in domestic electrical work, Ben oversees all aspects of the build process, managing a team of 13. Known for his compassionate leadership, he fosters teamwork while driving continuous growth and maintaining high standards.

Simon Gardiner joined Southern Ridge Electrical in August 2018 and has advanced from A-Grade Electrician to Residential Project Manager. He oversees all aspects of the build process for clients like AHB Group and Hotondo Homes, managing a team of 13. Known for his organisation and quick problem-solving, Simon values diverse projects and fostering his team’s growth and success.
